Golden girl.

Few things make me happier than waking up to find my Vogue and Bazaar subscriptions on the doormat, and this month's Vogue was littered with inspiration for me. The most significant of this came from the cover star Cameron Diaz whom, unbelievably, i had forgotten about completely.
Flicking through a few of this weeks Best Dresses lists, i found her wearing these two ensembles - both of which i think are absolute gems. I particularly like the nude shorts and blazer combo, and am extremely envious of her endless legs!

Festival favourites.

With the festival season fast-approaching, my Kate Moss obssession is coming back strong. These pictures are some of my old favourites of the supermodel at Glasto '04. Absolute classic festival style. She looks comfortable but still super-sexy.

In the Kate vs Sienna festival style debate, Kate wins hands down for me. Don't get me wrong, Sienna is gorgeous (especially the hair) but Kate has got the effortless look down to a tee.

I've noticed Kate Bosworth looking pretty good at Coachella this year too, so i'll be keeping my eyes peeled...

Nautical or NO-tical?

I am undecided. The nautical thing has always suggested 'try-hard' to me, and it usually just looks too neat. However, i think Kate Moss does pull this off - the red jacket is kind of kooky and i think the addition of the cropped trousers definately helps. Then again, there isn't really much that Kate Moss can't pull off that i wouldn't choose - Ohh how i envy her!

I love H&M.

These are from the Summer 2010 ad campaign. So gorgeous, i can't wait to buy my bikinis for this year! Love the last picture, with the little girls in - it looks like the dream holiday,.

I couldn't resist putting these old pictures from Summer 2008 up as well. The campaign included Daria Werbowy (shown in these) and the girl now fronting Versace fragrance, Lara Stone. I love that H&M never seems to get dated - i mean these pictures don't look a couple of seasons old, they could pass for new season i think.

PMOTY

This is Playmate of the Year 2010, Hope Dworaczyk. I think she looks really cute in this photo - kind of like a curvier Cheryl?

Annalynne McCord

Actually love this girl's figure - i am insanely jealous. She has really good hair too. Definately a big reminder that i'm gonna have to get into a bikini soon so should probably get myself back into the gym.

Summer - my way.

Prints and patterns are going to be a bit of an essential for me this summer. Gorgeous hair too...

I wouldn't wear this myself - it's a bit rock 'n roll. But i love the studded jacket, especially if it was paired up with a linen tunic, sandals and a killer tan.

Kind of represents my idea of a festival outfit - loose fitting, tribal/folky and a bit sexy. Think i'd wear some slouchy boots rather than the glads though.

I think i'd probably kill for a pair of these Chloe sandals.

I like the simplicity of pale blonde hair, dusky skin and loose-fitting whites.

Difficult times and wonderings.

Eurgh, this has been a hard week. I've been intensely stressed over exams and the boyfriend has proved himself wrong in the trust stakes yet again. I read an article yesterday about a couple who emigrated to Bali with their kids after getting stuck in a rut in London - makes me think. I don't want to even be put into that position - i don't want to be trapped before i escape. England is not for me. I'm uninspired, and just can't seem to find where i belong or what i'm supposed to be doing here.

I find myself seeking more and more solace from what i really love - clothes and fashion and creativity - but can't seem to find a path which would allow that focus to be filtered productively. I suppose only time is going to clarify.

Despite having other such things on my mind, i have managed to collect some pretty good pieces this week.

I found a cute Batik stall at a local fete and got a tie-dye tunic and a white, crinkle kaftan for £15 total (when i finally get myself together with a camera i'll post some pictures) and some nice leather wristbands for pennies. I'm definately leaning towards the global traveller trend this summer.

Also invested in another couple pairs of sandals - you can never have too many! Found a picture of one of the pairs on the New Look website but not the other for some reason - here's a picture of the brown leather ones but i also picked up a pair of white and gold ones in a similar style.

Wardrobe updates.

Has to be a quick one, exams are looming and i really need to get down to some proper revision. Just thought i'd pop up some pictures of a few bits i've bought and am pretty excited about..
Ordered this little number from ASOS. It's supposed to be in the style of Cheryl Cole, and although i'm not really a fan of hers, i think this dress is really nice. Had to order it in petite sizing though...I'm 5ft4 but ASOS's normal dresses always seem to be too long.

I lovee these ethnic sandals from Boohoo.com...Only £10, and i can see myself wearing them all summer. I really like the bead detail on the T-bar.

If only money grew on trees.

Have spent the morning scanning Nicole Richie's collections, House of Harlow and Winter Kate, and my wishlist is continuously growing.

There's a gorgeous feather print wrap here - http://www.my-wardrobe.com/winter-kate/ivory-jasmine-feather-print-wrap-152120 - would look amazing in the summer, teamed up with denim shorts and a loose white vest.

This little tassled waistcoat is really cute too - http://www.my-wardrobe.com/winter-kate/ivory-gypsy-rose-macrame-waistcoat-936925 - such a nice festival jacket, but £186 :(

I love the House of Harlow accesories (boyfriend bought me a beautiful crystal and leather bangle for my birthday) and these little Pocahontas-style booties are super-cute - http://www.my-wardrobe.com/house-of-harlow-1960/brown-maddie-navaho-suede-bootie-241065 -again, perrrfect for my long festival summers.

At least i'm properly prepared if i suddenly come into a large amount of money anytime soon...

Adorable!

Ouchhh, what a weekend.

It's been the most gorgeous weekend here, and i have been active - to say the least! I spent all of Saturday helping to shift a huge amount of sand from the bottom from the garden to the top (very hilly, steep garden) and have the blisters to show for my shovelling! Then, after waking up with a pretty stiff back on Sunday, i was off at 10am with some family to run the Race for Life for cancer research (i'm going to try to link a post to some pictures at some point.). 5km in beautiful sunshine, i wasn't exactly complaining at the time. This morning however, my calves ache, my back aches and my hands are sore! It's pretty nasty, and can't see myself being able to hit the gym later.. :(
On the plus side, i had the weekend off work and it was the hottest weekend of the year. I've caught a nice bit of colour on my arms and legs so am feeling pretty hottt! And, this is my last ever week of sixth form - just a few weeks of exams after this, and i'm out into the big wide world...exciting!

Anyway, i think i've blabbered on a bit today, here's a couple of pictures which have inspired in this new summer sunshine.

Thursday 20 May 2010

So wrong, it's right!

"Girls of the Playboy Mansion" or "The Girls Next Door" - whatever you want to call it, i LOVE it!
Yesterday evening, i had a revelation. I found a site where i can watch any episode, any time, for free! Needless to say, that was the end of my 'revision evening'... They're tacky but cute. I may have just flushed any impressions you may have had of me regarding style down the toilet but hey, i'm not here to impress, just to share!
I am very, very happy that my last salon appointment finally resulted in a snowy-white colour like Holly's (centre) in the middle picture, rather than a horrible brassy blonde. I like the idea that people take one look at me and think 'fake' or 'stupid', then find out i'm actually educated and intelligent - it's fun to surprise everybody!

Tuesday Style

Alessandra Ambrosio looks gorgeous in this picture - effortless. I'm sort of channeling this look today with dark denim jeggings, loose white tunic and a chunky knit grey cardigan layered under a cropped pea coat.
Also, getting the roots attacked at the salon today - can't wait!

Nude inspiration.

It has been said that my style is pretty samey. I've always worn lots of beige, sand, camel, nude - whatever you want to call it, neutrals i guess. I think this is partly because i went from dark brunette to white blonde, and this is one of the only groups of colours which can be worn with both hair shades. For example, red and burnt orange were brilliant with the brunette, but definately so much the blonde...They tend to make me look like a street-walker these days!
This is why i have been very, very excited by the fashion at the moment - rack and racks of beiges in all different shades, all floaty and feminine, with lace and prints. ALL of which seem to team perfectly with my leggings-addiction ... LOVE.

"I enjoy this -"

NEW bits on the way from asos...

Both very cute with leggings i think. And i only paid £15 for the pair.. Beautiful.
After a morning at work and an afternoon at work, these cheered me up! If only they could already be here now - off out tonight and have absolutely no idea what to wear.

Dat new new...

I love Cudi...

"You can look all over but, noo, you'll never find, hot..shit like mine, woop, it blow you're mind..."
"Not many people on this planet understand..."
"Ignorance is love and i need that shit."

(Considered going back to brunette today...but £200?! Peroxide is here to stay.)

I NEED.

Just been doing a bit of quick, pre-college browsing and found these - Beautiful suedey/leathery cuff sandals. Only from Boohoo, £30. Have a feeling they won't be there long so i'm hoping for a purchase next week...

Goodness me...i'm growing up?

Reading through those older posts has made me realise how much things have changed, and in so little time.
I've been through trying to forget about food and weight and everything else, but i can feel myself nudging out and going full circle. It's so frustrating because i don't want to be where i was...but i also don't want to be the way i am now.
I've been too scared to weigh myself for a while now..the way i see it, not fitting into my size 6's is enough information for me.
I'm going to try and take a new approach to this whole situation, because i know i will regret letting this shallowness take over my entire life..

1. I'll stop letting food consume me - it should be the other way around.
2. I'll keep working out a lot, but do it because i enjoy it.
3. I won't punish myself for over-eating - i'll just work-out a little extra and try to forget about it.
4. I won't stress about weight and numbers - it's how i feel that counts.
5. I will avoid all eating disorder websites regardless of situation - i don't need to be egged on when i'm in the state of mind.

I have much bigger things to worry about than my size (eee, pun.) at the moment. It's exam time and i get stressed enough without piling even more onto myself.
Anyway, i'm sure i started this blog to get inspired and share it, not freak out and log this silly battle i have with myself?!
